Jan Grigsby and Nina Ryne
Nina Ryne and Jan Grigsby play a lively and thought-provoking collection of folk and original tunes that awaken emotion, inner awareness and spiritual expression. They blend their vocal harmonies with guitars, viola, mandolin, percussion, and Native American flute. Nina has been performing as a singer, songwriter and storyteller for decades. She taught music and theatre from preschool through high school, including 20 years teaching guitar at San Luis Obispo High School, before retiring in 2022. Jan has grown up playing classical violin and viola since grade school and, throughout his more than 30 years as a public school teacher, has shared his love of music and musical instruments with preschool and elementary school students.
Nina and Jan continue to share their musical passion and gifts with audiences of all ages, performing at libraries, elementary schools, retirement homes and weekly church gatherings. Their performances invite listeners to explore a variety of musical traditions, discover unfamiliar instruments, and experience the joy, reflection, and connection that music can bring.
Both have recorded music for children: Nina's It's Our World and Jan's Furry Friends and Coming Home With a Song. Nina's original songs for adults are featured on her CD Feet on the Ground, and together they have recorded Lost and Found. Their music is available on YouTube, Spotify, and other streaming platforms. More info is available atfacebook.com/ninarynemusic
